What's In Plantable Paper?

Would you like to know more about the wildflowers that are embedded in the Verdant wildflower seed paper? Each piece of seed paper contains a mix of the following non-invasive, North American wildflowers: Black Eyed Susan, Snapdragon, Clarkia, Catchfly, Sweet Alyssum, and Bird's Eye. Each flower is beautiful and great for pollinators. We hope you enjoy learning about the flowers as you grow them from the paper!
The wildflower paper that we use is made in Canada with post consumer, post industrial paper waste. Which means no trees were harmed in the making of the paper! The wildflower seeds are embedded in to the paper mix and voila, you have plantable wildflower seed paper! Now, on to the flowers!
Black Eyed Susan is a member of the sunflower family and is a perennial flower here in Alberta! It can be found all across North America in meadows, pastures, and native grasslands. It is a sunny yellow color that makes a great addition to flower beds. The butterflies and bees will thank you as Black Eyed Susan is one of their favorites!
Clarkia is a beautiful pink annual flower found all across North America. Clarkia is an important flower for native pollinators, especially the Clarkia Bee that relies solely on on Clarkia flowers for nectar. Clarkia grows between 1-3 meters tall and bloom in early summer to fall. It makes a cheerful addition to your flower collection!
Catchfly has beautiful purple, globe shaped flowers that bloom from May-September as an annual in colder climates. The long bloom time for Catchfly makes them a popular choice for flower beds as you will get blooms all summer long!
Sweet Alyssum is a low growing plant with small dense branches of petite flowers. The flowers have a deliciously sweet smell, similar to honey. It is found across North America and makes a great filler flower for hanging baskets or potted flowers. Often the flowers are white but can be found in purple and pink varieties. Interestingly enough, Sweet Alyssum is in the same plant family as broccoli and canola!
